None None is an artist based in Hong Kong. He graduated at the University of Hong Kong and began to work as a professional. However, being an artist might sounds stupid to many people when compared with a relatively stable profession in an utilitarian city like Hong Kong where people are routinely fed the idea that “the more money you earn, the better you are”.
Therefore, he named himself as None None to remind himself that “None cares, just do whatever you want and make something out of you” and began pursuing his dream in the art field.
Style of Art
None None's work focuses on pop art stylised as figurative characters and motifs with rock (also known as petrified) layers on their outer surface which is falling apart as if undergoing a transformation. The rock layers covering the body represents the social norm or stereotypes, and only by breaking off them is the only way of self-redemption.
Being an asian artist who is enthusiast in western pop culture, he always looks for inspiration from different world-famous cartoon, movies and music to create art that is a fine blend between East and West. Also as a lover in climbing and outdoor activities, he likes turning sports and the nature into ideas for his art work.
His current works include digital prints of graphics drawn in bold colours and lines featuring various western cartoon and comic book characters such as Bart Simpsons, Astro Boy, Garfield Cat, etc. In the future, he will be creating more characters and also making more art pieces in a more variable forms including 3D sculptures, fashionable apparel and other accessories.
